When children enter the school at 08:25 they know that their teacher is waiting for them in the classroom. This is a great opportunity for the children to catch-up on any unfinished work and get answers to questions with the support of the teacher.
Pupils in Reception, Years 1 and 2 have three lessons and one central break in the morning.
Pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have four lessons and one central break.
The pupils enjoy their lunch at 12:30 supervised by teaching and non teaching staff and the Headteacher. All pupils receive cooked School Lunches as part of standard provision; prepared daily by our School Chef. Heworks extremely hard to ensure that food is not only healthy and safe but delicious too! All manner of special dietary requirements, including serious allergies, are handled efficiently and without fuss. The School Chef provides great alternatives for those children unable to eat certain foods and they by no means miss out.
After lunch the pupils enjoy a break in the school playground before returning to the classroom for afternoon lessons. The timetable is similar for both age groups. At the end of the day, the pupils have the choice of going home at 15:30, staying for any available clubs or activities or staying on at school until as late as 18:00 in Aftercare. The school provides a wide variety of free school clubs; with clubs run by external contractors charged as an additional cost.
Aftercare staff provide a wholesome snack and a myriad of games and activities. Older pupils are also able to finish their homework in Aftercare. If it is warm, children can play outside.
