St Christopher’s (H) vs Buxlow
September 28th – 2.15pm Kick Off

On a humid day down at the Post Office Sports Ground, St Christopher’s lined up for their first competitive fixture of 2017/18 against Buxlow.

Recently appointed Football Captain Brandon led the team out for what many predicted would be an exciting match. The game started with some ferocious & intense tackling, with both teams making a strong start by looking to win possession in the centre of midfield.

Fortunately for St Christopher’s Demos took the game by the scruff of the neck & tore into the Buxlow defence. With some cultured finishing, he scored a Mane/Fowler style Hat Trick in under 7 minutes. A buoyant St Christopher’s took this lead into half time after an outstanding save by Alex just before the half time whistle.

Following a slice of orange during half time and a few substitutions, a new look St Christopher’s team started the second half. A few of the squad players showed some excellent determination to push themselves forward for the first team in the future.

The game was evenly contested for the majority of the second half, before a mistake in the St Christopher’s midfield left a Buxlow striker clean through on goal, who finished confidently to make the game 3-1.

Conceding a goal spurred the team back into gear and following their reintroduction both
Demos & Brandon added further goals at the end of the game to make it slightly more comprehensive.

The match concluded with handshakes all round & three cheers for both teams. Buxlow put up a good contest for St Christopher’s, but were out done by the creativity & guile of the St Christopher’s attack on the day.
