Mrs Alison McNeill, our beloved and respected Headteacher, passed away on Tuesday 16th February 2016 after a period of illness.

Mrs McNeill had been at the heart of the school for 35 years.   During this time, she progressed from Senior teacher to Deputy Headteacher and then finally Headteacher.   She was instrumental in the school’s development and success and her wonderful, warm personality has made St Christopher’s a happy place to be.

We would particularly like to thank all our parents for their generous and heartfelt support for Mrs McNeill during her illness.   As a mark of our respect, St Christopher’s School will be closed on Tuesday 15th March 2016, to allow staff and parents to attend her funeral.   An extra day will be added to next year’s calendar to compensate for this.

Anyone wishing to attend the funeral should contact the school office for details.  Ali’s family have asked us to give this message:

” You are invited to bring a single flower and lay it near Ali’s grave, and wear normal attire rather than black clothes.   Ali clearly touched the lives of many, some of whom are unknown to us.   So please feel free to pass these details to others who might want to attend.   Children will of course be welcome.”
